Previous Venture Scholars award recipients have studied at Portland Community College, Mt. Hood Community College, Clackamas Community College, Clark College, the Concorde Career Institute, and the Art Institute of Portland. Their fields are nursing, early childhood education, CNC (manufacturing) programming, multimedia, graphic design, ophthalmic medical technology, dental hygiene, and respiratory care, among others.

Jose has a strong interest in photography, videography, and computers. He recently graduated from MHCC with a degree in Professional Photography and has established his own business as a professional photographer.

Christy has recently completed her program in Dental Technology at the Concorde Career Institute in Portland and is now working as a Dental Assistant at a local Dentist's office.

Brad was one of our original Venture Scholars in 2005. His dream was to become an EMT and paramedic. Through lots of hard work he has completed his studies at PCC and Clackamas Community College and the Northwest Regional Training Institute. In 2008 he completed his practical paramedic work experience in South Carolina and passed his National Paramedic Certification Test in California. Brad now works as an EMT/Paramedic for a local ambulance company.

Erin studied Health Occupations in high school and decided she wanted to become a nurse. She is now a Venture Scholar enrolled at MHCC. She completed her prerequisites and was accepted into MHCC's nursing program on her first attempt. She expects to complete her program in 2010.

Scott has always been interested in cars. He was able to pursue his interest by enrolling in the Ford Asset Program at MHCC where he is stuying Automodive Technology and interns at a local car dealer. Scott will graduate in late 2009.
